Eric Erickson (Head Coach) - Coach Erickson has been the Varsity Boys' Soccer Coach at Como Park since 2004. Since that time, the Cougars have been a consistently solid team posting an overall record of 81-33-5. Coach Erickson was recognized as the Section 4A Coach of the Year in 2004 and again in 2008 and 2009.
Coach Erickson has coached soccer in St. Paul since 1996, both at the Middle School and Junior Varsity levels before taking over at Como Park. He has taught Social Studies in St. Paul for the past 15 years and has been proudly teaching at Como Park H.S. since 2000, instructing AP Government, AP Economics and U.S. History classes.
Coach Erickson grew up playing soccer in the Twin Cities and played high school soccer at Minnehaha Academy. He went on to play 4 years of NCAA Division III Soccer at North Park University in Chicago where he was the Captain during his junior and senior seasons, twice earning All-Conference and Team MVP honors as a center-midfielder.
Coach Erickson loves Como Park, is passionate about high school soccer, and appreciates being able to coach the team that represents the school and community where he teaches and lives with his wife and two young daughters.
Jonah Fields (Junior Varsity Coach) - Coach Fields has been coaching in the Como Park Soccer program for three years. He successfully led the C-Team to a winning record in 2007, and did the same with the Junior Varsity in 2008 and 2009, thanks in large part to the quality instruction he provides. Coach Fields played high school soccer in the City Conference at rival Highland Park, where he was a four-year Varsity player and two-time All-Conference selection.
Coach Fields has been teaching Special Education at Como Park for four years. He studied at the University of Wisconsin and earned his Master's at St. Thomas. He also coaches in the Girls' Basketball and Softball programs at Como.
Martin Xiong (C-Team Coach) - Coach Xiong is a 2005 graduate of Como Park who was a 4-year Varsity player, Co-Captain for his senior year, and a 2-time All-Conference selection. He is a hard worker who understands the excellence and committment Como Park Soccer strives for, and has been a great addition to our coaching staff over the past 2 years. He is studying at the Minnesota School of Business and working at Federal Express when he isn't coaching Cougar Soccer or Boys' Tennis in the spring.
